I hold non-residential research fellowships at the philosophy departments of Åbo Akademi University, Finland and the University of Hertfordshire, UK.  Previously I was Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Hertfordshire.  You can find a link to my full CV here.

I work on the intersection of language and ethics: I explore what happens when ethical experiences challenge linguistic expression, and I seek to understand the human capacity to disclose the world through language in ethical terms.   I continue to explore these themes through my work on Wittgenstein, on Heidegger, as well as contemporary thinkers like Cora Diamond and Stanley Cavell.   Recently I have developed an interest in Aristotle’s writings on nature.

I live in London with my family.
